The last of the randomness for the month of August.

Stacy came to visit. The kids were in love with her little boy Jacob. If it were up to my kids I'd be having another baby really soon. I'm glad it's not up to them.

Taking Dutch to school. 

Dutch started Kindergarten today! It was a very exciting day in our house. Dutch was thrilled, I was excited, no tears for this momma, just pure excitement for Dutch. I was lucky to get to have Dutch almost an entire year longer than most get because he just barely missed the deadline. It was sad for him to watch all his friends start kindergarten without him last year so he was more than ready to go this year. He got to pick out his first day of school outfit the night before, to my surprise he choose to wear pants in the 110 degree weather but he looked mighty handsome. Dutch is in morning kindergarten but it still doesn't start til nine, so with him waking up at 6:30 everyday he still has a lot of time to kill in the morning. It seemed forever for him until we could finally walk him down to school. Mom and Dee were in town so we had a whole parade of people walking him to school. He loved his first day, he gets to sit at the red table, he didn't get any strikes and he played with a boy but forgot to ask his name, that's all the information I was able to get out of him. I'm excited for Dutch to be starting this new phase in life and to be able to challenge his mind. He did inform me after school that his teacher didn't teach him how to read today, poor kid I guess I should have been more clear that he would learn to read just not on the first day. 

This year we got to go camping on the beach with David's family again. David wasn't going to be able to stay the entire time because of his rotation so we left Friday night and stayed at Tristan's house so David could have a longer vacation and we could do something with just our small family as well.

Saturday we spent the day at the beach building sand castles, playing in the waves, taking naps and reading a book (ok so that last one was just me). It was such a fun day, the beach was gorgeous, with the soft silky sand and no rocks it was just a good day. Dutch loved playing in the water. Even though the water was freezing cold and it was overcast the first couple of hours had no effect. He played for hours non stop in the water.

Sunday we hung around Tristan's for a bit and then headed to Carlsbad to meet up with David's family. I got to spend my birthday on  the beach Monday. Unfortunately I hurt my back again somehow and spent way to much time in pain while we were there. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and that always makes these trips totally worth it. Talli was in heaven having Amber there all week, Maylee loved playing with Ashley and Dutch and Jackson had a great time together. Pretty much nothing for David and I do to but sit back and relax while our kids were entertained. My kind of vacation.

Our attempts at a good family photo, pretty impossible to get one with everyone looking AND smiling. But I love looking at all the tries.

On our last day which was Wednesday Fawn wanted to take us to Legoland, since it was just up the street from where we were camping.  It was our first time there. The kids had a great time, Maylee was TERRIFIED of the roller coasters but David and I are mean parents and made her do two anyways. She hated the first one and screamed and cried the entire time. The second one we were able to trick her, she didn't know it was going to be a big roller coaster  and she did much better, she screamed the whole time but didn't cry and she even admitted to liking it afterwards. Poor little girl is really truly terrified of heights and anything that goes fast, she won't even sit in a grocery cart. Talli LOVED the roller coasters and probably would have stayed on it all day long if she was allowed. I love the different personalities of my kids.

The month of July

July was kind of just a random month. So I'm just going to post some of my favorite pictures from the month with a few captions and let that be my monthly blog. I'm getting so lazy with my blog.

 I made a Batman and Robin cape for my SIL's brothers.

 These pictures keep uploading sideways, and I'm too lazy I guess to keep trying to fix them.

I made Maylee a dress.

 Maylee has been loving playing Salon and doing Talli's hair.

 My Mom came to visit, and she did a photo shoot of the kids while she was here.

 I cut bangs after girls camp. 6 weeks later I hate them and I'm ready for them to be grown out, it didn't last long :)

 Maylee took another dance class at the rec center.

 These two are becoming little best friends and I love watching them play together.

 Talli and Maylee's hair turned green from all the swimming. I have never seen a 4 year old so devastated to have green hair. I found Maylee in the bathroom trying to wash it out in the sink. When she couldn't get it out, she sat at the table and bawled. It was heart breaking. So I googled some ideas of how to remove it. I like the tomato soup idea, I put the girls in the bath, lathered their hair in tomato soup let it sit for about 5 minutes, rinsed it out and TA-DA the green was gone. I let my mom know instantly how easy it was. She and I were both a little shocked, being the I only had green hair in the summer times as a child, my mom tried everything and spent a ton of money and nothing seemed to work. Finally freshman year of highschool we just dyed it to cover it up. Who knew, tomato soup.
