30 Years!!!
I remember very clearly when my parents turned 30. And as a little girl I remember thinking how OLD that was. I just thought it was so old. When my parents turned 40, I didn't think that was very old, when my Dad turned 50, I didn't think it was that old. But for some reason in my little girl mind when my parents turned 30 that was just so old! So when David turned 30 on Wednesday it just seemed so weird to me, so old. I don't feel old enough to be married to a 30 year old. I'm sure when we turn 40 and 50 and so on it won't seem as weird to me as when we both turn 30 because to me 30 is old, :) strange I know, I can't help it.
So I threw David a surprise party with all of our family while we were in Arizona. Too bad he figured it out and wasn't surprise, oh well it's the thought that counts and the party was still fun. Then on his actual birthday, which happened to be the first day back to school after spring break, prefect timing huh?, the kids and I tried to make the day special. I asked the kids what they wanted to do for Daddy. Dutch said he wanted to make him a blue cake, Maylee said she wanted to get him a balloon and Talli just grunted. So we headed to the store to get all that we needed. We got everything for a cake, Maylee picked out a balloon and I picked out some water balloons. We made the cake but the blue coloring didn't work, so we ended up doing a purple cake with red frosting. Then I filled up a bunch of water balloons for the kids to throw at Daddy when he got home. Now that plan was for the kids to ambush him, however as soon as he walked into the house they were too excited and told him they were going to throw the balloons at him. They were waiting outside for him, so he removed his wallet and phone and snagged a bunch of the balloons and we had a water balloon fight outside. I'm pretty sure I got the most wet. Then we just went shopping, hung out as a family, and ate cake. It was a pretty relaxed, mellow birthday.

Spring Break
David had his Spring Break last week so we loaded up the kids and headed to Arizona for a week. I had a few projects that I wanted to work on with my Dad at his cabinet shop and the kids just wanted to play with their cousins. We got in Saturday afternoon and headed to a BBQ with my Dad's ward and then at 9 that night my Dad wanted to go running, so we went for a late night run, I don't normally run late but it was fun. Tuesday my Dad and I headed over to his cabinet shop to build a headboard that I have been dreaming of for awhile. I got the idea from Remodelaholic, she uses four cabinet doors to make a headborad, she has a great tutorial of it on her blog however we didn't use her tutorial since my Dad is a cabinet builder he had his own idea of how it should be built. So we got to work making the headboard and it turned out amazing. I can't really say I did too much work, I should say that my Dad did an awesome job, although I did help sand, fill nail holes and paint. On Wednesday my Dad and I headed back over to the shop to finish the headboard and start on a picture frame that I wanted made. I fell in love with the frames from Organic Bloom and figured that I could probably make some myself and so we did. While we were working away (and this time I actually got to use the jigsaw and cut out some of the frame) I got a phone call from David (he was at my parents house "supposedly" studying) anyways this is how our conversation went...

Maylee wanted me to take a picture of her head too, to see if she had an owie.
I had a lot of fun working with my Dad at his shop. Its probably a good thing I don't live in Arizona now that he owns it because he would probably get sick of me coming down there and having to help me on a ton of projects.

Once we got to Arizona David realize that he had gotten the days mixed up on a class he had to take and he ended up having to drive home Wednesday night, go to class for four hours on Thursday and then drive back to Arizona as soon as the class let out. Not fun and not cheap. But it did give me chance to buy all the food for David's surprise party that I was planning on having for him Friday night. And it gave my Mom and I a chance to hang out. So we went up to Arrowhead Mall and browced around, let the kids play and ride the little train ride there. The train ride seemed to last forever, the kids loved it but I started feeling like a hostage.

David ended up figuring out that we were throwing a party for him, bummer. But we still had lots of fun with all our family celebrating his 30th birthday. And me beign super lame-o I didn't get any pictures.
We celebrated Easter with Fawn and Dave. The kids woke up to find their Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny and loved the presents that He left for them. Then they went out side to find all the eggs that were hidden. It was hilarious watching them hunt for eggs. My kids are extremely into colors, so every time Maylee found a blue egg she wouldn't pick it up and put it in her basket instead she would yell for Dutch and say "Dutch here's a blue one for you" and same way if Dutch found a pink egg. It was really cute. I love when they show they love and concern that they really do have for each other.

Easter Breakfast...

Trying to get a decent family picture, not the easiest thing to do with 3 little kids...

Maylee picked out her's and Talli's Easter dresses. She saw a pink, fluffy dress and you better believe she wasn't leaving the store without it.
And then just the random pictures from our trip...

Talli managed to get close enough to the stuff animals to snag a few...

Maylee always looks like she is going to fall right in the potty, it cracks me up...
David, "Hey how is it going?"
Me, "So good, oh my goodness the frame is looking amazing! I can't wait for you to see it. What are you up to?"
David, "Oh well I am taking Dutch to the ER." (In mellow tone)
Me, " What? You let me go on about my picture frame while you are taking Dutch to the ER, what happened, is he ok?"
So anyways here's what happened. Tara called that morning and asked if the kids wanted to come play at her house. So we took Dutch and Maylee over there. A couple of hours later Tara called my Mom panicked and said that Dutch cut his head open and that David needed to come look at it. Dutch and the boys were playing on the bunk bed and some how Dutch leaned out and the ceiling fan was on and it cut open his forehead pretty good. So David took him to the ER and he got 5 stitches put in his forehead to close up the cut. His first big "owie" that landed him in the ER and he was so proud of it, he enjoyed telling every one how he got it. And David enjoyed removing the stitches four days later. The Doctor did a great job stitching it up and I think he is only going to end up with a very tiny scar.

1 & 3 year well checks
The girls both went into the doctor this past week for their well checks. Maylee got to be seen by the doctor first. She did very well, wasn't being super shy, answering questions, she's definitely growing up. He teased that I must be beating her because of her big black eye. She was declared a clean bill of health. She had to get one shot and she did awesome. They had a Winnie the Pooh book in the room that I read to the kids while we were waiting and it was about Pooh having to see the doctor and get a shot. So when it was time to get a shot, I told it was just like Pooh having to get a shot, she was so excited so she laid back on the table and then the poke came. She cried for 3 seconds and then was done. Such a brave girl, she proudly wore her band aid and was very sad when it was time to take the band aid off for a bath. At 3 years her stats are:
Height: 38 inches = 60th percentile
Weight: 30 lbs = 35th percentile
Talli was a bit more apprehensive about having the doctor check her out. The doctor said she is definitely teething although I'm beginning to think that she'll always be teething but never get teeth. She got her two bottom teeth at nine months and hasn't gotten anything since then, but she constantly seems like she is teething, red swollen gums and snotty. I keep hoping they'll just break through and relieve her of the pain, but nope, nothing. Poor baby had to get four shots and she let everyone in the entire office know that she did not appreciate that. At 1 year she stats are:
Height: 29 1/2 inches = 50th percentile
Weight 19.12 lbs = 25 percentile
Head 46 1/2 = 75th percentile
Lets talk scary...
Typical Sunday afternoon of late, the weather is beautiful, the door is open, the kids are playing outside while David and I are hanging out in the living room. Pretty soon Dutch and Maylee both come into the house, so I went outside to check on Talli since she is now outside by herself and what do I find, this....
That's right folks, not only do I have a walker but now she's a climber. I guess I can no longer let her play outside with Dutch and Maylee without me being out there. She was so proud of herself too. Trying so hard to climb all the way up on. She sure loves the trampoline.

I can't even trust her on the trampoline even with the net because her favorite thing to do is to unzip it.

Dentist
Dutch and Maylee each had an appointment with the Dentist on Tuesday. I was really nervous about taking them. The last time they went was over a year and a half ago when we still lived in Phoenix and they both were hysterical at that visit. So I was not at all excited about this trip. But I tried to talk it up as much as possible and told them that they would get a prize at the end of their visit and that the Dentist was just going to brush their teeth and make sure they were nice and clean. When we got to the office the waiting room was full of fun toys. They were both in Heaven. They were having so much fun at the "Dentist". Dutch got called back first and he actually went with hygienist ok but then she came out 5 seconds later and said he wanted me back there, which I wanted to be back there anyways so I was happy they let me go back. The hygienist was awesome with Dutch, she made him completely comfortable, she was able to get his x rays done and his teeth clean with no problem. The last part he got a little sad but it didn't last long. Then the dentist came in to look at him. He showed me that he has a severe overbite that will have to be taken care of down the road but other then that his teeth look great, no cavities, yay! They had Maylee in the chair right next to Dutch so I was able to stand in the middle and talk to both kids. Maylee was awesome. She was so excited to sit in the chair and for them to move it up and down. She did awesome and never had a moment of sadness. She did gag on the fluoride treatment, I was afraid she'd throw up but luckily she didn't. She too has a bad overbite and her teeth jet out he said, so she'll need treatment later on, but no cavities. I know my kids will end up in braces one day and that doesn't bother me. I survived them and I know they will too. I'm just glad they have strong teeth and no cavities. Later that night after we had been home for awhile Maylee was crying because she wanted to go back to the Dentist and play. I'm so glad they each had such a good experience.
Playing in the waiting room...

I couldn't get Maylee to make a good face...
