4th of July

Our 4th of July was pretty low key this year (like every year). I went for a late run, ran some fun errands since David was home with the kids. Then in the early evening we finally headed down to Boulder City for some 4th of July festivals. We ate some ice cream, let Dutch try rock climbing and then watched fireworks with the Kings. It was a pretty fun evening.

Dutch did awesome at rock climbing. I thought for sure he'd climb about 3 feet, get scared and come back down. He totally proved me wrong. They harnessed him up and up he went and fast too. He got 3/4 of the way up in about 7 minutes and then he froze. We tried so hard to tell him to just move his foot up to the next step and he'd be there. But once he froze there was nothing we could say to help him. And he was not about to let go to come down. After being stuck in the same place for about 5 minutes the worker finally climbed up after him to get him down. Still I was pretty proud of how far up he got.

 Getting harnessed.

 The girls watching the action.

 Starting the climb.

 Doing so good.

 And now he's stuck.

 Getting ready for the fireworks.
