I have gotten so bad about blogging lately. It's not that I can't find the time and it's not like nothing happens around here. I just plain and simple have not felt like blogging. But I keep reminding myself that I am doing this "journaling" more for me then anyone else and that I want to be able to look back and read about our life. So here goes... I am going to make myself post something.

Last weekend we had some very fun visitors. Seth had work in Vegas so Tara and the kids came up with them and we got to play with each other for a few days. It was very much needed for Dutch. I haven't really met anyone here who has a kid Dutch's age. They are all either 6 months older or 6 months younger, and right now that still makes quite a bit of difference. So he was so excited to be able to play with his cousins, people that he knows and loves. Seth and Tara stayed at the Monte Carlo the first two nights that they were here because his work paid for it. So on Thursday we drove over to the hotel to see them. Tara and I thought it would be fun to take the kids swimming there because the hotels here have awesome pools. And yes we were right the pool was cool but OH MY GOSH, it was sin city all gathered up and plopped right down at the pools of the Monte Carlo. It seriously was that bad. At first we took them to the pool that has a beach front so that the kids could just run and play in the water. They had a live DJ and we couldn't even hear each other screaming if we were standing one foot from each other. Which isn't very smart for supervising kids in a pool. But that wasn't the horrible part, every person was drinking, drunk or wasted. And we were seriously getting some pretty nasty shows from the couples around us. Tara left me with all the kids while she went to see if there was a better spot for us. While she was gone she got to see someone past out and the medics had to come. But she found a better spot. Less dirty nasty people. But still it was just not a place to take your kids. And judging from the looks that the people there gave us, they too agreed that we shouldn't have kids. Friday we spent the day at my house. Which was a lot of fun for the kids. They just played like crazy all day long. Then Friday night Seth and Tara got to spend the night and then the kids played for a few hours Saturday morning before they headed back to Buckeye. It was so much fun. Seth and I even talked about how it reminded us of when we were little and how much we loved going to our cousins house and spending the night and playing. So it is actually a lot of fun that our kids will get to experience that. And of course I only took a couple of pictures. I have got to get better at that.

This picture was taken at the grocery store. Tara and I were crazy and took all six kids to the store. So I put all the kids in one cart and hauled that around while Tara pushed the cart with the food.

All the boys playing on the stairs. Dutch was out after Seth and Tara left to go eat some dinner with friends. We were watching TV on the couch and the next thing I know he was gone. Friday night I made a bed for all the kids to sleep on in the living room. Dutch said he wanted to sleep with Maxx and Jace but I didn't think he would actually last. Sure enough Seth brought him up to me about an hour after they layed down. Well I was so tired when Seth brought Dutch up, so I just let him crawl in bed with us. I told David I would take him to his own bed in just a minute but then I fell asleep. Which I actually ended up being glad for. At 4:57 am Dutch started puking. And then every hour after that. Of course he got sick with family visiting, he just wouldn't be Dutch if he didn't get sick. But it only lasted until about noon. After that he was fine. But then at about 3 Maylee started throwing up. She got it worse than Dutch and threw up a whole lot more but it also only lasted until midnight. So whatever it was it was super quick and I am very grateful that they both got in on the same day instead of dragging it out.

I forgot to mention one of the craziest things that I found out about on my very first visit to church. I was chatting with another girl in the ward and I asked her what her babies name is. She replied, "Maylee". What?????? Get Out!! I thought for sure that Maylee was a unique enough name that I wouldn't have to worry about there being another Maylee in our ward or in her class at school. Heather was pretty surprised too. She has actually never heard of another Maylee so she was just as surprised as I was. She spells her Maylee... Meili. It is actually a chinese word meaning beautiful, which is why they named her that. Her little girl is 10 months old. So they at least won't be any in classes together. But it still really threw me off. But she is a pretty cute little girl. So at least the word really does produce beautiful little girls.

It has been forever since I have posted. I just have not felt like taking any free time I have lately to sit down and blog. But Dutch went to bed at six and Maylee at 6:50, so I have no excuse. We have been so busy since we have moved to Nevada. So far we are liking it, it is really strange to live somewhere other than Arizona but we are all adjusting. David started school on Monday and is already feeling the intensity of medical school. Dutch doesn't seem to be adjusting super well to all the moving we have done in the last two months. He has developed a pretty big attitude that just leaves David and I completely stumped as to what to do. The change hasn't even seemed to effect Maylee at all. We happened to end up in the best ward possible. There are a ton of other couples in our same situation and everyone is so nice and inviting.

We have already gotten an annual pass to the children's museum, found the best public pool that is almost identical to my parents club house, found a great splash pad and some fun parks. We've BBQ with the couples in our ward, gone to a birthday party and had a play date. We've gone to the summer movies, played at McDonalds and swam at one of the nicest hotels here. My mom and Stormy already made a surprise visit up here. We have found a super fun outdoor mall, similar to something in Scottsdale. We've toured Hoover Dam. And we have managed to do all of this in the two weeks we have been here.

It might not feel exactly like home but we are still having a good time. We love the house we ended up in. It is super cute and we are in a good neighborhood and area. We have two other couples in our ward living just a few houses down from us. We really have been very blessed with the area and ward we ended up in. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We have already got to experience relying on the ward instead of our family. One day while I was at the pool with a bunch of girls from my ward, David's car broke down. Of course I didn't hear my phone ringing because I was swimming. So David had to call a classmate, and get his car pushed out of the intersection and hitch a ride home. Then we got to call the Elders Quroum President and find someone who could tow his car home for us. We were very blessed and we able to find people willing to help us out. But for the time being we are now stuck with only one car until David can get his fixed. He's pretty sure its the timing belt. But it's not something he can fix by himself.

I won't lie and say it hasn't been hard at times. My Mom and Stormy drove up on Thursday morning for my birthday and completely surprised me. It was probably the best birthday present ever. We got to play all day together and then they spent the night and left the next morning. But when they left on Friday it really hit me. I had a good cry after they left. My mom and Dad came up and helped us move in for the first few days and when they left it didn't really hit. But after they left then I got to experience what it was like to live in a new city and not know anyone or anything. So when Stormy and Mom came to visit, it was the first day that I got to feel just completely comfortable and at home. So it was hard for me to have them going, knowing that it was going to be back to the new girl again. But I pulled myself together and had a good weekend. We are definitely of the attitude that we are going to make Nevada our home and just love living here for the next four years and I really think that it isn't going to be that hard to do. I haven't taken a ton of pictures since I have been here. My camera battery has been dead and to be honest I just never got around to charging it, so I missed out on some good pictures. But here are some of what I do have.

Taking a break from swimming. While Mom and Stormy were here we went shopping and we bought Maylee some new swimsuits. When we got home I wanted her to try them on her. Well Dutch felt a little left out so he grabbed Maylee's shirt and wanted to put it on. So we put it on him. We laughed until we cried, he looked so funny in her shirt. He is still falling asleep anywhere. I don't know why but I love these pictures of him.

We're Here!

We are here. We are loving our new house, it is super cute. We've been very busy moving in and trying to get all settled before David starts school on Monday. I'll give a better update once David starts school and I have some more free time.
