While I was making dinner last night, Dutch was playing in one of the cupboards and he found the cornstarch. The picture can tell the rest of the story. Then when David got home from work we finally got around to craving our pumpkin. We've been wanting to do it for a while but we just couldn't find the time when we were all home at the same time and not sleeping. Dutch was so excited when we first got started. David got the top all cut off and it was time to take the guts out. And Dutch would have nothing to do with it. No amount of coaxing or begging could get him to put his hand inside the pumpkin. Even when I tried to just let him touch the guts while I was holding it, he wouldn't. I guess it was just to gross for him. About 6 minutes into it he decided pumpkin craving wasn't for him and he wanted to swing. So David and the kids went outside to play while I got to finish gutting the pumpkin and then David got the job of craving out the face. Which he did very good. We've had a few years of questionable pumpkin craving but he redeem himself this year and just did a normal pumpkin face. Despite Dutch not wanting anything to do with the gutting of the pumpkin or craving, it was still a fun evening. I just love having family time.

My mom took this picture of Maylee and I the other day while I was at her house. We have matching toes. It was the first time I have ever painted her toes and they look so cute. I doubt I'll be doing it again for awhile. But it was fun to have her toes painted for a few days. And I love the picture. Thanks Mom!

We had our ward Halloween party on Friday night. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed dressing the kids up. Maylee was a cute little flower. Although she wasn't having a very good night and she did not want to wear her head piece. But she looked cute regardless. And Dutch was a soccer player. I was having a really hard time deciding on what I was going to dress him up as. But on Thursday I was out at my parents house. (My Dad and I went and hiked Camelback Mountain together and we had an awesome hike.) Anyways so after the mountain I was hanging out at my parents house visiting with my sister Stormy because she just got back from Ecuador. Well she got us all some great stuff from down there. She got all her nephews some cute jerseys. So while I was debating on what to do for Dutch, I had a great idea to just use the jersey and have him be a soccer player. So all I had to do was buy a soccer ball and some tall socks (for only six bucks at Wal-mart, nice and cheap) and he was a cute little soccer player and best part of all he got a soccer ball out of it.

And tagged again

This time I was tagged by Stephanie.
What is your husbands name? David Lazenby
How long have you been married? 4 years
How long did you date? We only dated for four months before we were engaged and then we were engaged for three months. It was very fast and I don't recommend it.
How old is he? 27
Who eats more sweets? David for sure
Who said "I love you" first? David did
Who is taller? David
Who can sing the best? I think we would both say neither, I really enjoy singing but I know I don't have a great voice and David rarely ever sings
Who is smarter? Depends on the subject, but I would have to say David
Who pays the bills? I do
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are standing in front of the bed looking at it, David does, if you are laying in the bed I do
Who mows the lawn? I do, I started doing it because I was frustrated with David because he would let it get so long in between and when I was 6 months pregnant with Maylee I did it for the first time out of spite and found out that I actually really enjoy mowing the lawn, So now I make sure and do it during the week that way I get to do it
Who drives? David does, but I backseat drive really bad, it drives David crazy
Who kissed who first? David would say I did, but really it was him
Who asked who out first? Again it was David, he initiated our entire relationship, I really wasn't very interest in him in the beginning
Who wears the pants? David would say I do and I would agree for the most part
Wow I really haven't thought about the beginning of our relationship in a while, that was interesting.

Tagged

I've been tagged a few different times and I decided to just go ahead and do the tags because I have nothing else of interest to update about. Life has just been steady and normal nothing exciting going on. Although... I did get Maylee's Halloween costume today which I am very excited for. I wasn't very excited about Halloween this year and I was even thinking of not dressing my kids up, you can just call me scrooge. Anyways I finally got online to just look at Halloween costumes today and I found a super cute one, for cheap, b/c everything is now 50% of since I have waited so long, so that worked out nicely. Anyways I found a cute costume and I am very excited to dress her up in it. So now I am excited about Halloween and now I have to go and find Dutch a costume. Wish me luck. Anyways for the tag. I was tagged by Jolisa, here's the rule...
Go to your fourth picture file
Post the fourth picture in that file
Tag four people
So here is the picture... I got my camera when David and I were dating. This picture was taken the very day that I got my camera. David and I were making an orange freeze dessert. Now I tag... Mom, Stormy, Tara and Jadie

Mailbox Keys

About four or five months ago Dutch and I went out to check the mail. On the way into the house Dutch wanted to carry the mailbox keys. No big deal, I let him before and once we get into the house I take the keys and hang them back up. Well I forgot to take the keys back when we got into the house. And it wasn't until a couple of days later when I wanted to check the mail that I realized they were gone. So I searched the house high and low, I couldn't find them anywhere. But I figured they would show up in a few days. Well they didn't, so I couple of days later David and I searched the house again, from top to bottom. No such luck. So I just waited for our mail lady to come so I could get the mail. I figured that they would show up so I wanted to wait just a little bit longer. Well a few weeks pass and they don't turn up so I figured Dutch must have thrown them away. He was going through this phase where he was throwing everything in the trash, his toys, my kitchen towels, etc. So I decide to just go ahead and get some new keys. Well it turns out that it is a lot harder to get mail keys than I had thought it would be. I finally figured out that in order to get new keys I have to call a locksmith. So I make some calls. And it is going to cost about 100 dollars to get new keys. I don't have an extra $100 just laying around for some mail keys, so I continue to just wait for the mail lady once a week. Which is no fun at all. I only have one window in my house the faces my front yard and it is in my dining room. A room I never go into during the day. And the mail lady comes anywhere between 11 and 3. So I have to keep walking into the dining room about every five minutes to make sure I don't miss her. Her name is Crystal, we actually became friends throughout this ordeal. Anyways this goes on for probably four months. But finally the other day I decided to completely reorganize Dutch's closet. Which I have already searched for the keys in there, they weren't in there or so I thought. I took everything out. I store all of the baby things that we aren't currently using in that closet. So I finally get everything out of the closet except for this one last toy. It's a toy that snaps onto the highchair. Anyways when I get to the toy I was about to just toss it into the room to figure out what to do with later, when I realize that it is put together wrong, so I decided to put it together right just real quick. And low and behold in the little hole on this toy is my keys. I still would not have found my mail keys if I hadn't decided to put the toy back to it's proper order, I didn't see them when I picked the toy up. But I was so excited. So now I no longer have to wait for Crystal anymore, it's so nice. I even had one of my stupid Breezy blond thoughts when I found my keys. My mom will appreciate this. I thought to myself, "I hope these keys still work in my mailbox." I'm a dork I know, but guess what, they do still fit in my mailbox and it is so nice to be able to check my mail when ever I want.
Here is the toy that I found them in. Did you see the keys right away? And this is the pile of stuff that the toy was under. How Dutch managed this one, I will never know. Because this toy was completely under all this stuff.
Dutch had his two year old well check yesterday. His body is finally starting to catch up with his head. Instead of his head measuring 150%, it now only measures 100%. So that's good. He weighed in at 29 pounds=65% and was almost 36 inches tall=84%, so still tall and lean. He got his last shot until he is in kindergarten so that's exciting for him. He was very proud of the band aid on his leg and kept lifting his shorts up to look at it all day.

Dutch's Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Dutch's birthday with all the family. It turned out to be such a great day. David had to go to work in the morning, so I just got my workout done and my shower in while he was gone. And then when he got home we started cleaning the house and backyard to get it presentable for everyone to come over. Well, while we were cleaning David opened all the windows because the temperature was just gorgeous outside. Having my windows open with a breeze coming in the house just makes for an incredibly great day. It was one of the those days where my house is perfectly clean, the windows are open, kids are happy and I just feel like I am the luckiest person in the world and that life just can't get any better. And being around family is my favorite way to spend my days. And I especially love to have our family over at our house. The party went really well. David set up Dutch's tunnels and tents in the backyard for all the kids to play in. I made a little birthday video for Dutch. It was a lot of his pictures since he was born and some video clips of him all put together. It turned out so good. So we all sat down to watch that once everyone had arrived. However Dutch climbed up on my lap about half way through the video and fell asleep. Once the video was over we all tried to wake him up but we had no such luck. You know all the pictures I post of him sleeping in funny places all over the house. Well this kid was out like a rock during his party. I laid him in the middle of the living room and every one sang really loud, Happy Birthday, nothing he didn't even flinch. I sat him up and he just stay out. So we finally gave up and let him sleep for about 45 minutes while the rest of us ate cake and ice cream. So Dutch didn't get to blow out any candles on his cake. But then after we were all done eating David was finally able to wake Dutch up and we opened his birthday gifts. He got awesome gifts from everyone, he loves them all. He got a lot of Lighting McQueen cars, which of course he loves. We had such a wonderful time with our family. Dutch just loves his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is such a blessed little boy to have so many people in his life that love him so much. He had a great time playing in the backyard with all of his cousins and then watching his new movie Peter Pan with them after the party was over. My mom came over about 45 minutes or so before the party began because she had to leave early so we let Dutch open his gift from her before everyone else arrived. That was the only gift that he was completely awake and not grouchy for. He started to open it by himself but then about 2 seconds into it he asked for help. I guess he just knew he wouldn't be able to open it fast enough.
By himself...
With help from Daddy... Sound asleep... when we were trying to wake him up... After his nap opening presents from everyone with Daddy's help... Maylee was very excited about all the wrapping paper and boxes that she got to eat... I didn't get hardly any pictures which really disappoints me. I get so busy making sure everything is going smoothly and visiting that I forget to take pictures. I'm going to have to do better at future parties.

I had a really good time celebrating Dutch's birthday yesterday. I know that he won't remember it and he really had no idea what a birthday is yet but I tried to make yesterday a special day regardless. I got him some birthday pajamas that I let him wear Wednesday night to bed that way he could wake up in them. I figure why save the tradition for just Christmas Eve only. So I got him some Lighting McQueen PJ's which he loved. Also on Wednesday night after I got him to bed I filled the living room up with balloons and streamers. Dutch pretty much always wakes up crabby and getting him happy in the morning is a pretty huge task. Well yesterday he of course woke up crabby and crying but once we took him out to the living room his mood instantly changed. He ran and jumped in the balloons and had so much fun. He played in there all morning. He usually eats breakfast first thing but I couldn't pull him away for the longest time. Then when he finally decided he wanted to eat breakfast I made him oatmeal and he ate a mini cupcake. Only on his birthday would I ever let him eat a mini cupcake with his breakfast but he thought it was pretty cool. And he stayed in his Pajamas all morning.
Here he is Wednesday night in his Pajamas
And on his Birthday morning playing in the balloons (which Maylee loved too) Eating a Cupcake for breakfast Then later in the day after lunch and a nap I took him to McDonald's and got him a Ice cream cone and some French fries and let him play in the toys. He definitely thought that was cool. That was his first time ever to McDonald's. When we first got there he was a little unsure because there was a lot of bigger kids running around. But once the place cleared out it was just Dutch and another little boy Dutch's age and they played together for a long time. Then when Daddy finally got home from work we had our family celebration. We ordered pizza for dinner and blew out candles and opened a couple of presents. He of course loved eating the pizza, it's his favorite dinner. However David didn't end up getting home from work until seven so by then Dutch was so hungry and throwing a fit in my room because he wanted to eat right now but I knew David was just minutes away. So when David got home the only way to lure Dutch out of our room was to take the pizza in there and show it to him. That got him in a good mood again. He did really well with blowing out the candles. Daddy did have to help him a little but he was very excited while we sang happy birthday to him. Then he opened his presents. And I was surprised because he just knew what to do and tore up the gifts with some help from Daddy. He got a movie and a Leap Frog learning toy, which he loves. So all in all it was a pretty good birthday. His alphabet toy is a magnetic toy for the fridge but since our fridge is stainless steel magnets won't stick to it so he gets to use the washer and dryer to play with his toy. But he seems to love i, he spends a lot of time in the laundry room now.

Happy Birthday Dutch

Dutch is two years old today. It seems like just yesterday that David and I were at the hospital getting ready to have him. Time flies by with kids. He is such a big boy now. So this post goes out to him.
Dutch is such a fun boy and so full of life. Some of his favorite things to do are; swinging, drinking shakes, playing with Maylee, having a sword fight with spatulas, playing on Mommy's bed in her pillows, reading books, watching movies, playing with balloons, playing with cars wrestling with Daddy, playing with Maxx & Jace, jumping in Maylee's crib, 'driving' the car, eating pizza, watching Starfall, playing outside, going for walks.
A few things that I love you so much about you. I love your big huge smile. I love the way you 'need' to sit on the computer desk when I'm typing. I love how much you love your sister and the way you pronounce her name, "Mayner". I love your kisses and hugs. I love the way you say, "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom..." I love the way you dance. I love listening to you say new words. I love the way you say, "Sure!" I love the way you hold and swing your arms when you run. I love the way you bring me about 8 pair of socks when I ask you to put your shoes and socks on. I love the way you get so excited to go bye-bye. I love how when you want to sit up on the counter you say, "Down" and then I say, "you are down" so you then say "up". I love listening to you laugh really hard, you laugh just like your Daddy. I love how cute and innocence you look when you are sleeping. I love finding you sleeping in funny places all over the house. I love that you are trying to sing along with me now. I love everything there is to love about you. I am so grateful that you are my little boy and that I get to be your Mom. I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday baby boy!!!

Sunday, October 5, 2008

So here is our most recent crazy Maylee moment. Yesterday I had finished changing Maylee's diaper and I set her on the floor in her room to play while I went to wash my hands. When I came back into the room, this is what I found. She climbed up there all by herself. And when I walked in, she just smiled at me like "whats the big deal Mom". This girl is crazy!
____________________________________________________________
David got a picture of the kids and I doing what we do everyday. I get two kids sitting, standing, wiggling all over my lap as we watch Starfall on the computer. Maylee loves watching it just as much as Dutch does. Either that or she just really enjoys banging on the keyboard. And Dutch knows his letters so well now. He can identify all the letters and now when I sing the alphabet song he sings along with me. You can't really understand him, he sings in jibberish but occasionally he shouts out the right letter. His favorite part of the song is, "and now I know my abc's next time won't you sing with me", I know weird.

Today Dutch woke up from his nap really crappy, which means he hasn't slept long enough and needs to lay back down. So David got him his ball and then laid down with him on our bed. Dutch fell back to sleep clutching his ball. We tried to take it from him after he was sleeping but he had a death grip and we didn't want to wake him up, so we let him sleep with it.
